Diamond Grade fluorescent reflective sheetings use prismatic and fluorescent technology to provide excellent visibility at dawn, dusk and during inclement weather.Delivers optimal performance where and when drivers need it most. The manufacturing processes for prismatic sheeting reduce VOC emissions by 97 percent and energy consumption by 72 percent compared to standard engineer grade sheeting Better for the environment: Not only is 3M Diamond Grade DG3 sheeting bright and durable, it’s better for the environment. It performs at all sight distances – including short and medium sight distances, and where signs are positioned in disadvantaged locations such as overhead or on the left shoulder DG3 sheeting is designed as a replacement for all types of reflective sign sheetings in use today. Its optical elements are 100 percent efficient, returning almost 60 percent of available light – nearly double that of traditional prismatics. ![]() Designed to meet the needs of all drivers nowĪnd years from now: 3MTM Diamond GradeTM DG3 Reflective Sheeting incorporates “full cube” technology for optimal performance.Warranted performance for up to 10 years.Fluorescent for added visibility during dawn, daytime, dusk and inclement weather.Provides level of luminance needed by older drivers. One of the brightest durable sheeting for cost-efficient guidance.Used for signs in areas warning the presence of non-motorized traffic, such as students in/near school zones, pedestrians, and bicyclists.Meets today’s highest published performance specifications.3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG³ Reflective Sheeting Series 4000 offers superior reflectivity at short and long distances.Usually, they are easier to remove with the application of heat. For temporary applications, a removable tape is recommended. Adhesive residues can be removed from the substrate by using adhesive remover. Self-adhesive tapes for permanent application are difficult to remove, often leaving unwanted residues. The reflective tapes can be cleaned by only using soapy water and a cloth. Use a squeegee and apply some pressure from the centre to the edge for optimal bonding and to remove trapped air. Then, remove the carrier film or paper on the back of the tape and position the tape on the substrate. Our reflective tapes can be hand-cut or processed with any other cutting device. We recommend the use of surface cleaners for optimum results. *Please note that vehicles of category M1 must not be marked with reflective materials! ( ECE 48) Application, Care and Removal of Reflective Tapesīefore application, the substrate should be cleaned thoroughly from dust and dirt. bikes, helmets, walking aids, outdoor gear.handrails, fences, barriers in parking lots.uneven surfaces, low clearances, boundaries, pathways, emergency exit plans on company premises.Reflective tapes are used for applications in various fields and areas including e.g.: While all colours reflect their own colour, black reflective tape reflects white. Lighter colours reflect brighter than darker colours, white being the brightest and black being the darkest. Some 3M™ and Orafol ® Series offer a wide range of colours including green, blue or black as well as fluorescent colours. If you want to learn more about reflective films, read our blog post on Types and Classes of Reflective Films.Ĭommonly used colours for reflective tapes are white, red and yellow. You should also bear in mind that glass bead films (type A and B) reflect at shorter distances but at wider angles. However, the strongest reflectivity might not always be necessary or optimal for your application. The highest reflectivity is, generally speaking, only achieved with a microprismatic structure (type C), making reflective material RA3/C the most powerful reflectivity class when it comes to distance. The number indicates the retroreflective performance – 1 being the lowest and 3 being the highest. ![]() There are three different reflectivity classes: RA1, RA2, RA3. Depending on the adhesive, the tapes might be also applied to painted or plastic surfaces. However, differences in flexibility allow some tapes to be applied onto uneven or even round surfaces. Generally speaking, the materials our reflective tapes are made of are ideally used on smooth and rigid metal surfaces. The following factors have to be taken into consideration: Therefore, it is worth to know which properties the reflective material should have. The reflective tapes from 3M™ and Orafol ® are true allrounders but there are some differences that might make one material more suitable for an application that the other one. Since we only sell reflective sheeting from renown manufacturers 3M™ and Orafol ®, you can be sure to receive a piece of high-quality reflective film. Our reflective tapes are cut from the master rolls of the reflective materials that we offer.
